DAY 6 IN SOUTH KOREA 🇰🇷
From history to everyday life, all in one day.
A walk through Yongsan Family Park, then the War Memorial of Korea, where you realize how deeply the country’s past still shapes its identity. One detail that stayed with me: Korea was under Japanese rule from 1910 to 1945, and even language and culture were suppressed.
Then back to volunteering.
Kids calling you 선생님, that means “teacher”. They are sweet, curious… and unexpectedly competitive when it comes to games!
And finally, the Han River at night: chicken, beer, couples, friends, and city lights (I miss that so much 💔).
Three completely different sides of Korea, in less than 24 hours.
Dalla storia alla vita quotidiana, tutto in un solo giorno.
Una passeggiata allo Yongsan Family Park, poi il War Memorial of Korea, dove capisci quanto il passato influenzi ancora l’identità del Paese. Un dettaglio che mi è rimasto: la Corea è stata sotto il dominio giapponese dal 1910 al 1945, e anche lingua e cultura sono state represse.
Poi di nuovo volontariato.
I bambini che ti chiamano 선생님, che significa “maestra”. Sono dolci, curiosi… ma sorprendentemente competitivi quando si tratta di giocare!
E infine l’Han River di sera: pollo, birra, coppie, gruppi di amici e luci della città (mi manca molto 💔)
