5 months agoThis is such a cool topic that doesn’t get talked about enough tbh!! 🩷💜💙 also on the topic of community - to all you invisible disability peeps - even if it isn’t as obvious upon first glance, you still belong! You still deserve community! You’re still “disabled enough” to be here!!

6 months agoAccepting myself as queer happened more once i saw Disabled queer people embracing their identity as both together and how connected it could be. I never really saw myself in either community until seeing both so clearly embraced by people. Disabled Queer people have saved me and continue to ❤️🩹

6 months agoThere’s a German saying/rhyme that fits this quite well: Ist der Ruf erst ruiniert, lebt es sich ganz ungeniert. It translates to about this: Once your perfect appearance is ruined, you might as well just lean into it. Like if you can’t fit in anyways, why even try to?

6 months agoI once asked a therapist about the overlap between LGBTQIA+, neurodivergence and disability and they told me I shouldn’t talk or ask about it because others will create negative stigma around it. It took me years to realise, if no one is talking about the positivity around it, then there will only be negativity around it, and the prejudice was a thing I was witnessing in live time.
