HBCU Mister and Miss™

WILBERFORCE, OH. The legacy of “The Force” continues to rise! It is an honor to announce the election of Jaylen Davis, a distinguished Electrical Engineering major hailing from West Point, Mississippi, as the 22nd Mister Wilberforce University for the 2026–2027 academic year.

A LEGACY OF SERVICE. Jaylen is a leader whose commitment to Wilberforce is broad and deep. The journey is defined by a consistent track record of advocacy and student governance:
• 22nd Mister Wilberforce University (2026–2027)
• Mister Freshman (2023-2024)
• SGA: Junior Class President
• NPHC: Parliamentarian
• Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.: Vice Polemarch (Delta Chapter)
• Gentlemen Society: Outreach Coordinator
• Campus Activities Board (CAB): Treasurer
• Additional Leadership: Student Ambassador, Strada Scholar, Member of Honor Society, and student-athlete (Baseball).

THE PLATFORM: P.O.W.E.R. The platform is built on a framework of intentional service:
• P — Purpose (Powered by Purpose): When students know their purpose, they stop surviving college and start leading it.
• O — Outreach (Power in Presence): Make every student feel seen. People don’t care how much you know until they know they matter.
• W — Wellness (Protect Your Power): Mental health is huge. Everyone doesn’t suffer out loud—you cannot walk in power if you are mentally exhausted.
• E — Empowerment (Power Beyond Gender): True power is not dominance—it is unity.
• R — Representation (Walk In Your Power): Be seen for what you are and what you bring. Representation is more than being seen; it is showing others what is possible.

GUIDED BY CONVICTION. Jaylen leads with the spirit of 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” The philosophy held is: “Power is not proven by how many people follow you… but by how many people are stronger because you led them.”
