| Wisdom is not about knowing anymore, its about seeing differently. Even the most ordinary day holds a quiet beauty.

Nice one 💫

China’s years-long splurge on bridges, tunnels, expressways, high-speed rail and airports is beginning to tail off. Questions are likely to grow about whether it was all worthwhile.

The humanitarian cost has been enormous: millions have been turfed off their land to make way for roads, railways, airports and other such projects—often without their consent and sometimes with little compensation.

The country has grown far richer, and praise for the transport network, at home and abroad, is often effusive.

But weighing up the benefits of transport infrastructure is difficult anywhere. Tap the link in our bio to read why some experts argue that China has invested far more than necessary.

🐒🔬🎃 SOCK MONKEY SCIENCE SATURDAY: THE SCIENCE OF TRICK-OR-TREATING! 🍬👻

After years of extremely questionable research, Professor Rita has finally discovered the scientific explanation for trick-or-treating!

According to Sock Monkey Science, Halloween is the only night of the year when humans willingly give away perfectly good candy to strangers wearing suspicious outfits. 🤔

Rita has identified three important scientific principles:

🎃The Law of Candy Attraction: Candy is naturally attracted to cute costumes. Rita believes her button eyes generate an unusually powerful candy field.

🎃The Costume Transformation Theory: Rita can visit a house dressed as a witch, return as a pumpkin, and come back as a vampire. Scientifically, that's THREE different monkeys. THREE candy collections. PERFECTLY LEGAL! 👀

🎃The Law of Candy Conservation: Candy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be transferred from someone else's bowl into Rita's tummy.

RITA'S SCIENTIFIC CONCLUSION:

Halloween is basically a door-to-door candy distribution system operated by people who have completely lost control of their front porches.

Her only remaining scientific question:

If she rings the same doorbell 12 times wearing 12 different costumes, at what point does it become a police matter?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
