the last ride, had to make the most of it
Leaving a legacy worth remembering is important to me, and I feel like I did that.
I set some ambitious goals for myself this season, including being the second best runner in 1A only behind my best friend and teammate and becoming a state champion as a team. Through a lot of hard work, consistency, and dedication, I am proud to say I achieved those goals at my state meet this year by getting 2nd place in the 1600 and 3200 and winning the 4x800. Sharing the podium with my best friends and sister is a memory I will forever cherish. In addition to that, we finished 2nd as a team bringing back our first map in a boys sport in 9 years.
I hope the impact I’ve had on MCHS and my teammates transcends beyond my time as a student and the standard we’ve set as a program continues to rise. Only through this will I feel ultimately satisfied that I did enough as an athlete.
I am so incredibly thankful for my Coach
@bobbybellew and Mrs. Seals for their leadership and drive to make me the best runner I could have been and demanding excellence from me. I also would like to thank Carter for always pushing me everyday at practice and being a leader to the younger athletes. Thanks to my family and sister as well for always supporting me no matter what.
Giving up competitive running will be a hard task for me, but I know there is something waiting for me ready to tackle with the same ambition, passion, and determination that I pursued running with.
Onto the next. Empty the Tank and Go Big Red.
