AFROLOCK
AfroLock is an African urban dance style created by Manuel Nex, a 31-year-old Angolan dancer.
The style is a fusion of Afro House, Kuduro and influences from Locking.
The idea was born when Manuel Nex realized that his dance movements were different from traditional Afro Kina. After researching Locking, he noticed that many of his natural movements already had pauses, expression, rhythm and energy similar to that style.
That inspired him to create his own artistic identity by developing unique movements and a new dance concept called AfroLock.
AfroLock represents:
* freedom,
* creativity,
* African energy,
* musicality,
* urban attitude,
* and self-identity.
The style was created in Poznań on May 10, 2026.
Created by Manuel Nex.
