The Marrakech guide I wish I had before visiting ✨
I didn’t really know what to expect before coming to Marrakech. I had a few concerns about the Medina and how overwhelming it might feel… but honestly, I ended up loving this city much more than expected.
People were incredibly welcoming and respectful, and even though we stayed in two different riads inside the Medina, we explored everything at our own pace and somehow didn’t get lost even once 😅
Marrakech is chaotic, vibrant and intense in the best possible way, and once you understand its rhythm a little, it becomes such a fascinating place to explore.
Places worth adding to your itinerary:
📍 El Badi Palace - massive courtyards, earthy tones and rooftop views over the city.
📍 YSL Museum & Jardin Majorelle - perfect if you love design, fashion or aesthetics.
💡 Book online in advance, entry is based on time slots and sells out quickly.
📍 Saadian Tombs - historic royal tombs hidden behind the Medina walls.
📍 Bahia Palace - beautiful Moroccan architecture and peaceful courtyards.
📍 Ben Youssef Madrasa - easily one of the most impressive buildings in Marrakech.
📍 Dar El Bacha - stunning palace and home to the famous Bacha Coffee, with over 200 coffee varieties.
💡 Expect 2+ hour waiting times in the morning.
📍 Dinner at Nouba - one of the best dinner spots in Marrakech, with next level shows.
📍 Lunch at El Fenn - iconic rooftop with a great atmosphere.
📍 Dinner at Safran by Kôya - great food, cocktails, and such a fun party vibe later in the evening.
📍 Stay in a riad - we stayed at Riad Les Orangers D’alilia and BE Marrakech, and both were beautiful in completely different ways.
📍 Explore the souks - yes, they’re chaotic. But they’re also part of what makes Marrakech feel so alive.
💡 Helpful tips:
• Bring cash, many places still prefer it
• Get an eSIM before arriving
• Prebook popular restaurants & attractions
