Congratulations @lizabethcho on finishing her first TCS NYC Marathon!
Liz was battling an injury the last few weeks but pushed through and had an impressive finish. Liz was running on behalf of @alzassociation and @billritter7
We are so proud of you Liz!! 🎉👏

If you’re stretching your hip flexors, check if you’re making this common mistake.

You get into your favorite stretch, usually some kind of lunge, and judge it by the angle between your trunk and thigh, and since it looks deep and feels intense, you assume it’s working.

But there’s a piece missing, because between your trunk and thigh sits your pelvis, which moves on its own. If you measure the angle between your pelvis and thigh instead, you’ll often see that the hip isn’t really in extension, so even though you feel tension, it isn’t hitting your hip flexors.

Instead, bring your back leg slightly forward to take off some tension and free up your pelvis, and then tuck your pelvis under. That tuck is what creates the hip extension, because when the leg is fixed, you can extend the hip by rotating the pelvis around the head of the femur.

If you look at the angles again, you’ll see that even though the leg is less far back, the hip is more extended, which means the stretch is finally targeting what you wanted.

Now keep that pelvis position and do your work from there.

Fashion’s biggest night is going back to basics. The Met’s Costume Institute and Vogue announced Thursday that the 2027 Met Gala will be built around “extraORDINARY: Fashion and the Poetics of the Everyday,” a show about how designers turn the stuff already in your closet into art.

This massive pivot comes after the museum scrapped its previously planned retrospective on designer John Galliano following major public pushback over his past controversies. Rather than dwelling on the past, Andrew Bolton, the curator in charge of the Costume Institute, pivoted toward a concept centered on real life.

Bolton noted that he wanted the new showcase to remain as provocative and visually arresting as any traditional high-drama exhibit, while challenging how society values what people wear every single day. He explained that a simple pair of jeans, a white tee, or a hoodie holds traces of lived memory, and the goal is to show how much imagination lives inside the pieces society takes for granted. “We all have a favorite pair of jeans or a white shirt,” Bolton said. “I thought there was going to be a nice sort of connectivity between the visitors and the objects on display.”
