after a long hiatus of almost 4 years, Drake has dropped 3 solo albums, instead of just the one he had previously announced. speculations say the 3 album drop is because he pulled a frank ocean, or lil uzi vert type move, to get out of his deal with UMG, but that’s not what matters right now.
for the man who put out ‘if youre reading this its too late’, ‘headlines’, ‘views’, ‘thank me later’, and ‘scorpion’, of course expectations would be peaking, and after the whole curfuffle with kendrick, the pressure just increased for the standard of the songs that needed to come out. but with the extensive physical rollout and release of iceman and the other 2 albums, drake has positioned himself at a pedestal where it comes off as he has surpassed MJ, indicated with the whole iced out michael jackson glove. with the iceman era, he has gone to show the main different types of drake, a rap album, an R&B album, and a dance/pop/rap album, Iceman-Maid of Honour-Habibti respectively.
this is meant to be a celebration, and sure it might not reach your expectations of the old drake, while for some it might, or for some it might even surpass it, but the point is, one of the greatest of the modern rap/hip hop/pop era has put out 43 fresh new songs, for you to hear, and to try and appreciate it.
