A historic Christian war memorial at St Alban’s Catholic Church in Warrington, England, was vandalized in an attack believed to have taken place on October 30, 2026. The statue of Jesus Christ was beheaded, green paint was sprayed across His body and offensive graffiti was left on the memorial honoring parishioners who served in both World Wars. However, one detail has received far less media attention. Orange graffiti resembling Arabic script was sprayed across the memorial plaque, containing what parish priest Canon Christopher Cunningham described as offensive messages directed against Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. The graffiti was quickly removed by a church volunteer on November 1, the same day the damage was discovered. While numerous media outlets covered the beheaded statue, few examined the Arabic-looking markings or their possible meaning. The attack has deeply upset the local Catholic community, especially as it occurred shortly before Remembrance Sunday. Cheshire Police are treating the vandalism as a hate crime and confirmed that a 42-year-old man was detained under the Mental Health Act. The parish priest encouraged believers to remain united and strong in their faith despite the attack. @cindyambuehl and I had a blast at the Daytime Emmy’s @theemmys.tv ! We were so glad to be sitting next to my TV son and dear friend, Scott Clifton @cliftoncam when his name was called for Best Actor honors🏆! If that wasn’t enough, my former leading lady from our many “ Brad & Tracy “ @youngandrestlesscbs years together, @bethmaitlanddqb won for Best Supporting Actress 🏆 ! Her previous when being 41 years ago! How’s that for staying power?!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Beth also happens to be one of the best people I know and it means a lot to me to be able to call her my friend since 1985! in addition to those special moments, our dear friend @evalarue killed it opening the show! We had a lot of laughs being seated with @bradleybell @bbheathertom @lsaintvic @delondemetz . A good time had by all! ❤️
The home you grew up in doesn’t have to be the home you build. Some of us spend our whole lives deciding what stops with us, and that choosing is its own kind of healing. Btw, poetry book “Between Heaven & Earth” is out now. It’s a collection of poems about love, heartbreak, loneliness, inner struggles, healing, and the quiet journey of understanding yourself and life along the way. If you’d like to read it, comment “Book” and I’ll send you the link. If you or someone you know is having a difficult time, free support is available.
