“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:6
I have to make sure God gets every ounce of glory out of this one. At 16 years old, by the favor of God, I became the youngest person accepted into the #1 architecture school in the country at the prestigious University of Southern California, beginning what became a truly life-changing journey.
This path was far from easy. Late nights, critiques, setbacks, and pressure all came with it, but through every challenge I stayed locked in, kept growing, and kept pushing forward. Earning my Bachelor of Science in Architecture is more than receiving a degree. It is proof that I can start something and finish it, no matter what.
I’m grateful for every memory, every relationship built, and every opportunity granted to me throughout this journey. A wise man once said, “Mission first, people always,” and I’m blessed to say I carried that mindset with me every step of the way.
At 20 years old , I accomplished the mission! This marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. This degree is not just what I earned, it is who I became in the process.
To my younger self: God’s not done writing your story, so don’t give up yet.
Done with this B.S. … time to make a M.Arch.
Thank you, University of Southern California.
