I was just a little girl when ma would dress me up like a doll- bindi, mang teeka, jewellery from around the city, lehengas and kala teeka. She would fill with joy like a child herself when I entered the stage. Going against so many, she enrolled me in whatever best classes the city offered. Over the years, I didn’t even realise, when the love for stage brewed slowly inside and it attracted me towards itself.
After almost a decade and a half I stepped on a stage, this time not as an actor, but as a dancer. It filled me with happiness. I just wish Ma and I were in the same city, so she could help me get ready and wish me luck with kala teeka behind my ear.

It was an immensely fulfilling experience, but incomplete still!
