Had a great weekend in Detroit with some new and old friends!

Third Man Record in the Cass Corridor

Vinsetta Garage in Berkeley.

Explored Cranbrook Gardens and buildings.

Definitely wandered into unlocked buildings to see cool custom chairs and famous fixtures.

Paused for photos

Looked into the abyss

Found Pewabic pottery wonders.

Made friends with animals at our Airbnb.

Made friends with friend’s horses.

Ate all the carbs!

Stared into the eyes of history at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Danced with the devil by the pale moonlight

Enjoyed ancient novelty clocks

Had lunch in spectacular rooms

Worshipped ancient cats to learn the secrets of the Egyptians.

Enjoyed the absurd mixture of past and present and celebrated both the city’s and my own.

Revisited Belle Isle but since it’s summer they didn’t have a giant Xmas tree made from running water (I’m guessing they don’t do that anymore anyway)

Communed with the natural world

Stopped to get a pic on the steps of my old apartment building — where I spent as much time killing cockroaches as studying for college classes in 1995! Ye Olde Pasadena Apartments right on Jefferson Ave.

So many beautiful things to see! I’m envious of your trip to Cranbrook.
