The 1990ties in Mongolia were fascinating years, a rough and rapid transition from socialism towards market economy and democracy. It was a tough time for many where the old system broke down over night which brought liberty and new chances same time uncertainty and economic hardship. The contrast between the different historical eras and the wish to enter a modern future was visible everywhere.
