We will be dancing on tables for money (probably, kind of). At the very least we will be playing rock and roll. Meteorologists are calling for a low chance of sobriety, and even if they're wrong, we can fix it with alcohol. No opener this time so we will start slow and low like a crock pot of velveeta at 8:30pm. Come hang out with us and severely, severely regret your decisions the next day at work.

The most dangerous thing about power might be becoming afraid to lose it.
James Talarico [ @jamestalarico ] raised an interesting point about what happens when people stay in positions of power for too long.
He claims that over time, their title can become part of who they are. And when their identity depends on keeping that position, they may start making decisions to protect it, even at the expense of the values that brought them there.
It’s one reason James says he’ll serve no more than two terms if elected to the US Senate in Texas.
Whatever your political views, it raises a question worth thinking about: How much of what we do is driven by what we believe in, and how much is driven by what we’re afraid to lose?
