Vietnamese women and men in the diaspora are not waiting for permission to speak anymore.

In this last part of the conversation, Kenneth and Chris gave a shoutout to the young girls and guys in the Vietnamese diaspora who are speaking up, voicing their opinions, taking a stance, and helping push our culture forward.

Because keeping culture alive is not only about preserving what came before us.

It is also about making space for new voices, new perspectives, and new generations to question, create, heal, and lead.

Throughout this whole conversation, we talked about bridging the gap between the older and younger generations. The wisdom of the old generation and the voice of the new.

And maybe that is the point.

The older generation carried the culture so we could have something to inherit.

Now it is up to us to keep it alive with honesty, courage, and love.

Thank you to Kenneth, Chris, and Peter for being part of this conversation.

We were raised by people who survived. That’s powerful. But surviving and building are different modes. My generation’s job is to take what our parents preserved…the resilience, the work ethic, the hunger…and stop apologizing for wanting more than survival. We’re allowed to thrive. Out loud.
