Välkommen på DIABILDSVISNING! (Detta inlägg är sponsrat av MIN MAMMA! Som alltid fotograferat, i ur och skur. Blir fortfarande helt lycklig av doften när diabildsprojektorn surrar igång)

POV: You found your new favorite gym Barbie. 💅🏼🎀

I’m Natty! Part-time runner, full-time gym girlie, and always looking for my next challenge. What started as an outlet for my mental health grew into something I genuinely can’t imagine life without. From lifting to running to HYROX, I love challenging myself and seeing what I’m capable of.

I’m ALL about girls supporting girls, sharing routines, and hyping each other up. I love getting others excited about fitness and helping them discover just how much they’re capable of! So excited to bring some Barbie energy to ØNYX!! 💗

When you hear another kid tell your kid “you can’t play with us,” it can hit you right in the chest. Of course you want to march over and fix it.

Here’s what I want you to do instead:

1️⃣ Remember this is not an emergency. It’s painful, but only emergencies need urgent action.
2️⃣ Just watch. Say nothing for 10, 20, 30 seconds. Your kid might handle it before you ever have to step in.
3️⃣ Think about the future. Your kid is learning patterns now that will play out when they’re 18, 25. You want them to know they have coping skills, not that someone will always swoop in to solve it.
4️⃣ Hold back on “You have to let my kid play.” When we do that, we’re teaching our kid they should want to be accepted by people who aren’t being kind to them.

If it still stings later, for them or for you, that’s okay too. You can say something like: “That was a hard moment at the park. I’m here if you want to talk about it.” Then let them lead.

How do you know who you actually are? ‘Stay true to yourself.’ ‘Be authentic.’ ‘You do you.’ But how do you actually know who that ‘you’ is?

Well, the ancient Greek philosopher Plotinus might give us a solution, because Plotinus is famous for giving us what’s called the ‘negative way,’ or the ‘via negativa.’ And this says that if you want to find or understand something, you should subtract all of the things that are not that thing.

So, for example, if you want to decide what to wear for work, you should subtract all of the things that you don’t want to wear. And the thing that you have left, ideally, is the thing that you have to wear.

So Plotinus asks us to imagine our authentic self as like a statue contained within a block of marble. And the art of finding that statue is about chipping away all of those things you don’t care about. Chip away the things you do for money or for praise, or because you have to. Chip away the chores, the jobs, and the responsibilities. What you are left with is your authentic being, and if you do more of that, you will thrive.

In other words, you need to reduce. Cut out all of the impositions and pressures in life. Cut out all of the have-tos and must-dos. Cut out all of the things that you don’t actually want to do, because what you have left will be you.
