Our next artist highlight is Lucas da Rocha Pita Brito (@mumb.u). Participating in Beyond The Canvas 2026 Edition.
Based in Piauí, Lucas da Rocha Pita Brito (@mumb.u) primarily works with metal and wire to create sculptures that explore the relationship between humans, their environment, and the industrial world. In this context, Lucas transforms these materials into forms embedded with anthropomorphic, plant-like and spiritual elements. At the core of his practice is the concept of ‘chaotic crotchet’, a term he uses to describe his creative process of weaving, stitching, and welding metal and steel wire into sculptural compositions.
The 2026 edition of Beyond The Canvas features Christopher Ifeanyi Uba (@ubachristopherifeanyi), Lucas da Rocha Pita Brito (@mumb.u), Olúbùnmi Atéré (@oluoninsta), Yasmine Amal (@yasmineamal.art), Mayowa Oyewale (@may.owaa).

Parabéns. Sua pesquisa foi longe. E eu tenho a honra de ter a peça tronco de grills. Gracias.
