🗳️ You can budget down to the last penny, but you can’t budget your way out of every policy decision. And a reminder: Don’t confuse party loyalty with political literacy. A letter next to someone’s name is not a résumé or moral checkmark. Research the people on your ballot. Look at their records, their policies, and the decisions they’ve made. A familiar party label doesn’t tell you everything you need to know. Because financial literacy and political literacy go hand in hand! It means understanding not just where your money goes, but who has the power to influence how much of it you get to keep. 😉 ⏰ NEW YORKERS: Polls close at 9 PM TONIGHT! If you’re in line by 9, you can still vote. Check your state’s polling hours if you’re voting elsewhere. 📌And because taking ownership of your financial future doesn’t end at the ballot box, comment BUDGET for our FREE guide to making more intentional financial decisions.

Last night, Democrats flipped both the House and the Senate. Doctors, scientists, and public health leaders won historic victories, including pediatrician Dr. Annie Andrews in South Carolina, epidemiologist Dr. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, former state health director Dr. Amy Acton in Ohio, and former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra in California. For those of us who have watched as propaganda and pseudoscience have been weaponized to justify the systematic dismantling of our nation’s science and public health infrastructure, these victories are huge. A new Congress will have the power to investigate political interference in science, protect research funding, challenge cuts to healthcare, nutrition assistance, and public health programs, and demand accountability from a corrupt, anti-science, anti-health administration, as well as those who enabled them. After everything we’ve witnessed over the past two years, that feels like something worth celebrating.
