ARC WINES / A new tour of 3 distinct and individual single vineyard wines from
@arcwines across the country this week.
Savagnin ~ biodynamically certified fruit from Gemtree Vineyards in McLaren Vale, a lovely expression of slightly oxidatively handled, textural and savoury Savagnin with a classic saline note to it / How wonderful it is to see this grape variety come up in these recent years through likeminded producers such as
@bkwines,
@entropywines and
@foreignfriends_wine to name a few / A special mention to the Halliday review for a promising score, now pourable with supported volume to boot.
Grenache ~ farmed organically by Ryan Road Vineyard in Willunga, the ARC Grenache is grown over a real mixed bag of limestone, sandstone, quartz and shale on the steep Willunga escarpment / A classic hue of modern Grenache, light coloured but full weighted, kirsch-like notes with a deep, autumnal tannin structure to it.
Along with these two wines a small amount of cellared 2023 ‘Block 2’ Cabernet is available, a nostalgic reminder of ARC’s time farming in Gippsland, VIC.
