The latest addition to my very humble paper book collection. By far this is the oldest one.
It is the first book of an Arabic series titled "Nations and Men: The Leader Hitler", translated in 1936 from a German series titled "Männer und Mächte" & its important edition, an early "Adolf Hitler Biography" in 1933.
The author of that biography is prof. Johann von Leers, an Alter Kämpfer and an honorary Sturmbannführer in the Waffen-SS in Nazi Germany, where he was also a professor known for his anti-Jewish polemics. He was one of the most important ideologues of the Third Reich, serving as a high-ranking propaganda ministry official.
After WW2 Leers ended up in Egypt after being persuaded by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, to migrate there.
In Egypt, he converted to Islam and changed his name to Omar Amin and became the political adviser to the Information Department under Gamal Abdel Nasser, the same department that translated his book all these years ago.
Eventually he became the head of President Nasser's anti-Israeli propaganda unit and served as head of the Institute for the Study of Zionism until his death in 1965.
"Leers died in Egypt on 5 March 1965, aged 63. His remains were returned to Germany at the expense of the Egyptian government and in June 1965 were buried in Schutterwald, in an Islamic funeral."
Try using your phone ai assistant to translate the Arabic text, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
