A Minnesota Burger King employee is going viral after wearing blackface and admitting she “just wanted to be Black” for Halloween this year. As her face goes viral, social media users have flocked and flooded the review section on the restaurant’s Google page.

On Saturday (October 31), a Black woman from Minneapolis, Minnesota shared a video to Facebook. In the caption, she wrote, “Y’all taking this HALLOWEEN SH*T TO[O] FAR NOW 😤. Go wipe that sh*t off yo face BECKY BEFORE MY BLK A** GET MAD 😒.” In the clip, a White woman working the drive-thru at a Burger King is seen in blackface. The video begins with the Black woman repeating her off-camera conversation with the employee. The employee said, “I’m just Black today. You said, ‘Did I think it was ok?’ I said, ‘As long as you have a good heart.’” When asked if she believed her intentions were good and is a supporter of Black Lives Matter, the employee took a moment and then said, “Well, no. I just wanted to be Black.”

The Black woman asked, “Why would you want to be Black? Do you know the struggles we go through as Black people?” The employee started laughing and trying to contain it. She nervously said, “No..Yes I do. I mean, no. No, I don’t. No, I don’t.” The video then ends. In the comments of her post, the Black woman screenshot the location of the Burger King, located in Faribault, Minnesota. She said, “Call n report her black ass yall 😭.” Under the reviews on the restaurant’s Google page, social media users have flooded with criticism and negative reviews, citing the employee’s Halloween costume choice.
