Marks of Return explores Reem Hamed’s journeys between Abu Dhabi and Dibba, using walking, observation, and material practices to uncover the layered histories, memories, and temporal rhythms embedded within the landscape. Through photography, sound, printmaking, ceramics, and stone, the exhibition invites a slower engagement with place, where stillness becomes a means of sensing movement, memory, and our enduring relationship with the land.
Developed through an extended collaboration with Reem’s practice, translating her experiences and observations into an exhibition and cohesive body of work. The process was informed by archival research into the histories of Dibba and Musandam, exploring how collective heritage informs personal memories. The project encompassed curatorial development, research, spatial design, exhibition branding, publication design, and the development of a complementary public program.
