Hidden within the vast emission nebula IC 1396, the Elephant’s Trunk Nebula rises as a dark column of interstellar dust, surrounded by glowing hydrogen gas. This fascinating region is an active stellar nursery, where new stars are slowly forming deep inside the dense clouds of gas and dust.
This image was captured with the Seestar S30 over two nights, with a total integration time of approximately 8 hours. The data was carefully processed to reveal the contrast between the cool blue background, the warm glowing nebula, the countless stars, and the dark cosmic dust structures.
