On Monday evening, George was invited to school for the awards evening, where he won the Year 4 Class Award, presented by his wonderful teacher and headteacher.

It was perhaps one of the proudest moments of my life. After such a long fight to get George a place at Newchurch, seeing him not only settle in so beautifully but also become such a valued member of both his class and the whole school means more than words can say.

The words spoken by his teacher during the ceremony brought not only me to tears, but also his teacher herself.

Anyone who knows me knows just how challenging the last few years of George’s schooling have been. The countless hours, meetings, appeals and assessments that have gone into helping him get to where he is today make this moment all the more special. No one deserves this recognition more than George.

Congratulations, George. I am the proudest mummy in the world. 💕
