i never thought I would have to write this.
Over the past week, I’ve had so much time to reflect on everything that Disney Nationals meant; not just the incredible ending we had, but the journey that got me there. Walking off that floor for the very last time still doesn’t feel real.
After 9 years, I can officially say that my dance chapter has come to an end.
It’s impossible to put into words what this sport has given me. Dance has shaped who I am today, and given me memories I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. It gave me a second family, my best friends, and a place that always felt like home.
To my teammates, thank you for every practice, every competition, every happy tear, every stressful moment, every laugh until our stomachs hurt, and every memory in between. There is no one else I would have wanted to spend these last 9 years with. Thank you for becoming my family and making every moment unforgettable. Ending this journey by your side, at Disney, as National Champions, is something I will cherish forever.
To Erin, Molly, and Melinda thank you for believing in me, and pushing me to be better than I ever thought I could be. Thank you for the countless hours, the corrections, the encouragement, the patience, and the sacrifices you made so I could chase my dreams. I wouldn’t be the dancer or person I am today without each of you.
This past week was everything I could have ever hoped for and more. There truly couldn’t have been a more perfect way to end the chapter that has meant so much to me. While I’m heartbroken that it’s over, I’m forever grateful that it happened.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years my family, my teachers, my teammates, and everyone who has cheered me on. You all played a part in this journey, and I will never be able to thank you enough.
I’m going to miss this more than words can ever say. 🤍
