2026 Players to Watch: Dejuan Nelson | No.006
When the ball finds Dejuan Nelson’s hands, every touch has the potential to become a highlight!
Milford Mill’s rising junior running back was one of the area’s most explosive playmakers as a sophomore, rushing for 770 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 80 carries—an impressive 9.5 yards per carry. His elite acceleration, sharp vision, and ability to make defenders miss in open space make him a constant home-run threat whenever he touches the football.
Despite standing at 5’7”, Nelson plays with the confidence and explosiveness of a much bigger back. His quick burst through the hole and ability to turn small creases into long gains have already made him one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in Baltimore County.
With another offseason under his belt and a full season ahead, expect Nelson to build on an already impressive résumé and emerge as one of the premier running backs in Maryland’s 2028 class.
👀 The only thing more dangerous than getting Nelson the ball is giving him a step of daylight.
