Raphaëlle Pelletier (@circus_raph )performed acrobatic bicycle in Le Jugement Dernier at Le Monastère, part of this year’s Montréal Complètement Cirque.
Her act opens gently: guitar, singing, riding her bike backwards while her handlebars spin freely. It shifts into a more acrobatic, dance-driven register from there. She trained for 10 years at the National Circus School and graduated this year. She’s also a co-founder of the collective Coup de Corps.
Her favorite moment is the backward ride, her newest move, still exciting to bring on stage. Her most stressful is a shoulder balance where she can’t see where the bike is heading, made tighter by a small stage.
