Yesterday I was proud to stand with our labor allies, small businesses, tenants advocates, and community members to unveil our two new proposed bills. The Workers Opportunity to Purchase Act and the creation of Small Business Tenant Unions will stabilize our commercial corridors, protect our small businesses, and help create more vibrant, successful neighborhoods and a more stable workforce. Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and when they thrive, we thrive.

For years you and others have voted against any market rate building causing rents to go up, so aren't you now having to solve a problem that you've created? I totally support unions, but basic economics tells us that an Increased supply will reduce rent and you have voted continually against new development. You do a disservice to small businesses when you don’t acknowledge that. Same for renters of apartments.

Thank you, Connie Chan. Your record speaks for itself. Always fighting for working people. Your impressive hard work as Budget Chair going line by line to find ways to fund add backs for city services that San Francisco’s rely on. You were the only supervisor working overtime to find doable strong amendments to protect small, local, neighborhood serving businesses and tenants from displacement, eviction and demolition. Too bad Lurie’s rubberstamp Supervisor Mahmood, Sauter, Dorsey, Alan Wong, Sherrill Melgar and Mandelman chose real estate, investors, venture, capitalists, and AI/Tech over their constituents and working San Franciscans. let’s go, Connie.🩵💙🩵💙🧡💙🩵🧡🩵💙
