I was doing storyboards for Over the Garden Wall (which was still being called Tome of the Unknown at the time - which is why it says that on the storyboard template) and had this musical sequence in the outline. Here’s a screenshot from the text exchange when I asked @davidvstevenson to write the song based on the title phrase I suggested. I think he wrote and recorded the demo overnight. Then I drew the storyboards for that scene based on his lyrics. Later The Blasting Company and Colin Dean recorded the final version for the show. #overthegardenwall. #potatoesandmolasses

Hearing your friend say “Let’s revisit this next quarter” is a lot to process when you watched them eat shredded cheese straight from the bag last night. Suddenly, they have a professional voice, a detailed agenda, and several people waiting for their approval. Apparently, the person sending you nonsense at 2 a.m. also oversees a department.

You try to stay quiet, but every “Excellent point, Jennifer” makes it harder. There’s an entire group of adults who know your friend as a reliable expert, and you’re sitting nearby with information that could completely disrupt that image. The call ends, they turn back to you, and you immediately need to discuss whoever that was.
