Solstice ceremony with the Aluxes in Tulum. I spontaneously went to a Solstice ceremony at Holistika in Tulum and learnt about the Aluxes, the fairy/gnomes of the Maya. Much like our South African Tokeloshes they are little people who help or trick you. Our guide/ceremony facilitator told us a little about the cosmology and then made his offerings of cacao, pumpkin seeds, black beans and corn. It was beautiful. Followed by the artwalk at the venue, it was truly a beautiful way to spend the Solstice.
