Brenda Howard was a bisexual polyamorous New York activist who spoke out against the Vietnam War, became involved in the feminist movement, and advocated greatly on behalf of the LGBT community. She was a member of the Gay Liberation Front, chair of the Gay Activists Alliance's Speakers Bureau, and the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights. She was a driving force for Gay rights laws in New York City.
She passed away in 2005 from colon cancer, yet the results of her efforts live on.
