Goodbye Zia Cristiana, also known as “tantin” to us nieces. Of course she was elegant and beauty surrounded her, but as I told James Reginato in his 2017 Vanity Fair article La Vita Brandolini: “Style is in the DNA of the family…obviously. Yes the palaces and the houses are gorgeous, but what I think gets lost is what incredible parents Cristiana and Brando were. They raised four fantastic boys. They have always all been very close, which is really touching to see”.
I would like to add that she was a loved and doting grandmother and a wise aunt, dispensing very good advice to me even quite recently.
Cara Tantin, you were the last person who could tell me funny stories about my mother and my grandmother. Thank you for sharing them. I will really miss you and May You Rest In Peace.
