Tranmire Cottage, Lastingham

Last night the garden at Tranmire hosted a talk by Luke from moorside_mushrooms - an absolute delight to meet someone so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Luke didn’t used to even like mushrooms but being caught out in the snow made him think about foraging and then growing mushrooms so is certain they are edible! It turns out to be quite the process so we’ll keep buying mushrooms from him rather than try to grow our own! He sells as Kirkbymoorside Market every Wednesday, and Hovingham which is the first Saturday of the month. These are the spare mushrooms he has after supplying some of the top restaurants in the area with 36kg per week!!
