Track 9: Is It True — Four Tet Remix, by Tame Impala & Four Tet @tameimpala @fourtetkieran

The words are by Julie Pensell @juliepensell — "Vera and Marco", a script charting the initial spark and then the dying embers of a relationship. Pensell is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a background in writing for TV and theatre. In her free time she can be found doing movie marathons — or as she prefers to call it, industry research.

The art is by Benjamin Sosne @benjaminsosne — an American artist working at the intersection of landscape, force, and historical memory. He makes his paintings using an 1800s black-powder cannon, propelling pigment at the canvas to create a single, unrepeatable moment of impact. For Is It True he's painted an American desert landscape — red earth, a mesa, a gap of blue sky — with the silhouettes of two figures facing each other, outlined in the fired paint. The resonance with Julie's script is immediate and striking.
