Election results showed a wave of blue pivots toward Democrats with 20, 30, 40 percentage point swings compared to two years ago. It suggests a broad, nationwide statement of frustration with the state of the country and the presidency of Donald Trump, who asked voters to treat this midterm as if he was on the ballot. CNN is comparing each district's House result with how it voted for president in 2024. Explore the live map at the link in @cnn's bio.
Follow me to cut through the hype 💎 Comment “links” to get my picks! Same knot, same high vamp, same bitter brown, $955 apart. Given all the luxury extras that Bottega’s got, I was really disappointed to see that it doesn’t quite curve to the foot. That’s bananas at $1,150. I get that the suede’s shagginess is a design choice. But I expect luxury shoes to be shaped like luxury, not blobs. Luxury extras so you can easily spot them in the wild: 🧵 More stitches per inch means finer work. Bottega’s got 11 stitches per inch. The other loafer: 10. 🪢 Knot (or any trim): the ropes should run parallel all the way around ✂️ Strap edge: a finished lip, not a raw cut 🤎 Suede: a long, shaggy pile reads casual, a short, dense, fine pile reads polished Bottega wins on execution. The lookalike wins on fit, with a vamp that follows the foot and three widths. I’d recommend it even if the Bottega didn’t exist. Affordable luxury finds! Even though it’s a solo race, it’s never a solo effort 💚✨ I know for sure I wouldn’t have made it to the start line without this community. I got here thanks to my team and the ones who have kept me afloat. From reminders, to runs, to encouragement- that even when it’s not pretty or shiny, we can be there and make it to start- and the ones you hold with you to take you to the finish 💚✨
