Gogi Dance Collective

"Follow the Bias"

When two dancers happen to live in an apartment above a lawn bowls club on the Gold Coast, QLD, an obsession begins. We took bowls lessons, did trivia nights, played social games, made a stage show on the green which then evolved into this beautiful film. We went on a journey and ended up back at the initial interest of beauty, pattern, lines, precision, obsession, a green stage. Bowls is much like dance, a skill to be mastered over a long time through practice. We admired the beauty of this and had to capture it in a way that made sense to us, honoured the sport and its people and community.

Huge thank you to our wonderful creative team @rosiedennis.2489 for your vision and direction
@samueljames21 for your filming and editing brilliance
@guysmilee for your wonderful sound
And to the dancers Jade, Yvonne, Sammy, Georgia & Bella
This wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Coolangatta and Condong Bowls Clubs who very generously let us rehearse, perform and film at their clubs.
