We welcomed Val McDermid @quineofcrime and Jo Sharp @profjosharp to the office recently to sign tip-in sheets for their forthcoming book, This Door of the Seas, for the @waterstones signed edition. The book is officially published on 6th August and signed copies are available to pre-order now directly from Waterstones!

Taking the pivotal seventeenth-century Darien Venture as its jumping off point, this evocative instalment in our Darkland Tales series of historical retellings explores the consequences of Scotland’s only trading company. Award-winning novelist Val McDermid and Geographer Royal for Scotland Jo Sharp unite in this epistolary tale, which offers a devastating account of the forces that doomed the endeavour and completely changed the history of the British Isles in the process.
