Oh Ma, what is this Maya?

I came to see you, but you were hidden beneath the depths of the earth, flowers & offerings making an abode above & around you.

I wanted to see you, I was craving for a glimpse that would shake the earth beneath me, but in these sacred places they're always angry Ma, they're grabbing people by the arms and flicking them around like objects, how many here truly love you? It seems to me that fear smells stronger than faith here.

But then I remembered our discussion at dinner yesterday - you are the one that fulfils desire. You are the embodiment of desire & fulfilment itself. I didn't come to ask for a desire of mine to be blessed, you have already taken my desires very seriously.

For years, i've been trying to get it right. The blade of my clarity has been sharpened by the suffering of having to look at myself. I've been putting in the blood, sweat and tears into becoming a 'better person'. Who knows it better than you Ma? Practice this, study that, reflect on this, observe that.

But today I pause at desire. The ones I've had and the ones I still have. I see that our desires can either pave the path for the kind of world we wish to create or push us into a whole we cant get out of.

I see your Divine grace embodied in my desires, in the women who trust me and love me, in friendship, in the animals who bless me, in the people who welcome me into their homes and feed me like a baby, in the eyes of my daughter, in the love of my parents, in the fragrance of flowers, in the arms of my lover. Hasn't all of this been birthed in my mind and body first?

It was you, wasn't it? Living your own desires through me?

I wish I saw you more closely today, I wish they gave us time, I wish there wasn't a need to rush, but I promise you I'm still paying attention.

I'm looking at you in my life, because YOU are always present. You are hidden but always there.

You know my desires, you know where I'm going. Just keep showing me what I need to see, even when it seems hidden.

And may my desires be of benefit not just to me and my loved ones but to all beings, everywhere.
