The most important thing to do in Paris is ofc to visit Opera Garnier, AKA the birthplace of Phantom of the Opera, and do the guided tour.
This visit was so special as I had just seen Sierra Boggess’s concert in London which was so beautiful and life changing, and the opera house will be shut soon for renovation. 🥹
Can’t wait to see
@officialsierraboggess as Carlotta!!!!!
This is the box phantom famously sits in, but the tour guide said it has the worst view in the house lol

Garnier was only 35 when he designed the opera house. The design was very luxurious as he didn’t actually think he was going to win the architecture competition and didn’t respect the initial budget. Everything was designed meticulously, even the way curtains were folded.
The ceiling was a free gift by the artist, Marc Chagall, who was Jewish, born in USSR, who later escaped to the US.
It was done in the 1960s after the original copper ceiling deteriorated.

Chez Gaston Leroux, a cafe in Montmartre, owned by Gaston Leroux’s descendants. No one was there when we walked past it but the interior was so nice. Defo have to come again, I think there’s a themed tea
