Cancer survivorship is more than being alive after treatment. It means having access to rehabilitation, symptom management, mental health support, financial guidance, exercise, nutrition, and coordinated follow-up care. We can celebrate survivorship and acknowledge that many survivors are still struggling. Both things can be true. Let’s stop measuring success by survival alone. Let’s measure it by quality of survival.

Slide number 3 for the win! All of these points are a valid crisis … but the fact that we put cancer patients into treatments that require tremendous, life altering symptom management-with no “plan” for care- is absolutely disgraceful.
