Fun fact: Iron Man (2008): Marvel originally struggled to convince audiences that Iron Man was a compelling superhero. Before the movie’s release, the studio reportedly held focus groups where some children confused Iron Man with a robot rather than a man wearing armor. Marvel responded by producing animated shorts to introduce Tony Stark and explain his powers, helping turn a relatively obscure comic book character into one of the most recognizable superheroes in the world.

Mile 15 is one of the most dreaded miles of the New York City Marathon.

All the noise and electric energy from the sidelines that make the marathon such a singular event vanish as runners climb the Queensboro Bridge. They are left with just the sound of collective panting and of hundreds of sneakers shuffling against asphalt.

“Everyone is fighting their own demons as they are going up the bridge,” one runner told our reporter.

At the link in our bio, experience what it’s like to run across the bridge during the NYC Marathon, and read more about the victorious descent into the “wall of sound.”

Quack! Daffy Duck at the Halloween Skate London 2026 🦆! This duck deserves a permanent place in my feed 🧡. It was a last minute costume which ended up being the coolest Duck.

Thank you @kaloyannikolaev (the cone) & @papier.masha (the hottest mustard) for all the photos and capturing all the duck business, and making sure I don’t trip over while I was skating with my duck feet, which I do not recommend 😆.

I learned that Daffy Duck is called pato Lucas in Spanish. Who knew? Apparently not me.

Someone asked me if I was dressed as Nemo, the fish from finding Nemo …

I had to use Sainsbury’s #bagforlife to wrap my skates, as I didn’t have enough orange paper to cover the whole skate, and I really wanted them to be orange 🧡. People really appreciated the effort, and there was a lot of it.

I am wearing 4-8 years old orange tights because that’s what they had at the shop, and it was the shade of orange I wanted, without being transparent. Just in case you need orange tights, I truly recommend them 😏.

It was really fun being Daffy Duck! See ya all next year at the Halloween Skate with @londonstreetskates 🫶🏻.
