![Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Menteri Koordinator Bidang Hukum, HAM, Imigrasi, dan Pemasyarakatan (Menko Kumham Imipas), mengungkap adanya usulan agar unsur kerugian perekonomian negara dihapus dari Undang-Undang Tindak Pidana Korupsi (UU Tipikor). Ia menyampaikan hal itu kepada wartawan di Kantor DEN (Dewan Ekonomi Nasional), Jakarta, pada Selasa (27/10/2026). Dilansir CNBC Indonesia, Yusril menyebut usulan tersebut muncul dari sejumlah diskusi sebelumnya, tetapi โbelum sampai kepada satu kesimpulan final.โ Saat ini, Pasal 2 UU Tipikor mengatur pidana penjara dan denda bagi siapa pun yang memperkaya dirinya atau pihak lain sehingga dapat merugikan keuangan atau perekonomian negara. Menurut Yusril, wacana itu digulirkan untuk menghadirkan kepastian hukum.
Pemerintah menilai pembangunan ekonomi sulit berhasil jika masyarakat masih dihadapkan pada ketidakpastian hukum dan ketidakadilan. Wacana tersebut mengemuka saat pemerintah berupaya menajamkan pengertian kerugian keuangan negara di dalam UU Tipikor. Menurut pemerintah, selama ini banyak aturan yang punya definisi sendiri soal keuangan negara, seperti UU tentang Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK), yakni UU Nomor 15 Tahun 2006, serta UU Perbendaharaan Negara, yaitu Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2004. Yusril khawatir banyaknya definisi itu membuat penegak hukum memilih aturan yang paling mudah atau paling cepat diterapkan. Hingga kini, usulan penghapusan unsur kerugian perekonomian negara tersebut belum diputuskan.
