For years now I’ve picked coffee over pre-workout for the caffeine, taste and antioxidants, though sometimes I’ll take a stim-free pre-workout for the tingles and the placebo. Most of what a pre-workout does for your training comes from the caffeine. You can get that from coffee for a fraction of the price. Some terms and conditions apply: * Dose: A cup of coffee has roughly 80 to 120 mg of caffeine, while many pre-workouts have 200 to 300 mg. * The link between coffee and living longer comes mostly from observational data. * Some pre-workout ingredients (citrulline, beta-alanine, creatine) do have evidence behind them. They’re often underdosed or hidden in proprietary blends, though. Also, some, like creatine and beta-alanine, also only work when taken consistently to build up muscle stores. That said, if you enjoy your pre-workout and it’s third-party tested, there’s nothing wrong with using it before some of your sessions, just be aware that it’s caffeine doing the heavy lifting.
HU Staff: Jamal Osborne @_j.osborne Burger King is facing public backlash after a white employee was filmed wearing what appeared to be blackface while working at a restaurant’s drive-thru on Halloween. ___________________________________________________ The video, which spread widely online, shows the employee with dark makeup covering her face. A customer confronted her about the costume and explained why the appearance was offensive. ___________________________________________________ Burger King has since addressed the controversy in a statement. “We are aware of the video and take the matter very seriously,” the company said. The fast-food chain added that the franchise owner was addressing the situation with the employee, the manager, and the broader team. “The Franchisee of this location is addressing the situation with his team, manager, and Team Member to ensure everyone involved understands why this is not acceptable and won’t happen again,” Burger King said. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 TMZ
