Systemic racism and entrenched against Kurds in Turkey continue to represent a profound, state-sanctioned human rights crisis driven by deep-seated cultural paranoia and aggressive nationalist hostility. The Turkish political establishment and radical nationalist factions exhibit an extreme, irrational fear of everything Kurdish—a psychological phobia so intense that even public displays of colors resembling the Kurdish national flag are systematically targeted, banned, censored, and criminalized in public spaces and sports venues. This institutionalized discrimination does not stop at Turkey's borders; it extends globally, attempting to suppress, harass, and intimidate successful Kurdish public figures who achieve international recognition in sports, arts, and politics. A prominent and ongoing example is the relentless online abuse, targeted harassment, and orchestrated nationalist backlash directed at German-Kurdish professional footballer Deniz Undav, whose athletic achievements routinely trigger toxic smear campaigns by extremist trolls. Furthermore, inside Bakur (Northern Kurdistan), Kurdish artists, social media influencers, civil activists, and public figures face severe intimidation, arbitrary police detentions, heavy judicial harassment, and direct threats of long-term imprisonment or forced exile simply for expressing their authentic Kurdish identity, speaking their native language, or advocating for basic human and cultural rights. This systematic political censorship, state-sponsored repression, and constant hostility clearly expose a fragile political establishment terrified of Kurdish freedom, cultural resilience, and independent success everywhere. . . #kurdistan #كوردستان #kurdmusic #stuttgart #kurdish . . Data centers became one of the biggest issues of the midterms, and Texas was at the center of it. Democrat Gina Hinojosa won the state’s governor’s race after campaigning on an immediate pause on new data center construction, becoming Texas’ first Democratic governor elected since 1990, according to the Associated Press. Texas accounts for roughly a quarter of the data center capacity planned in the US, according to Wells Fargo, and several AI linked stocks fell as results came in. Shortly after, Elon Musk posted on X, “Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now.” Opposition to data centers has crossed party lines, with an NBC News exit poll finding 76% of voters would oppose a new data center in their community. Voters in several areas also approved local measures restricting data center construction, and Hinojosa has said she also wants to end tax breaks for large data centers. #news #texas #datacenter #ai #artificialintelligence
