Book design for
@ole5651 White Wall II continues Ole Christiansen’s long-standing fascination with the unnoticed. Returning to the same construction fence at Kongens Nytorv over a period of months, the work reveals how repetition never produces the same image twice. Instead, small shifts in light, movement and chance gradually accumulate into something much larger.
Ole and I have collaborated for many years, and each publication has become an opportunity to experiment with a different aspect of the book. This time, we focused on the qualities of digital printing. Trying to make it a controlled process allowed the photographs to sit remarkably close to one another, making the smallest shifts in light, gesture and repetition even more visible.
