The tinier the text, the more suspiciously ambitious the community offering.
The festival officially kicks off in three days, but here’s a preview of what’s coming Saturday: Norwich Community Dance Day, presented with support from The Junction Dance Festival and the Norwich Lions Club.
We’ll be at Norwich Congregational Church with free kid-friendly workshops throughout the day:
10:00–10:30am — Comotion with Tai Nixa Peterson
For ages 0–5 with a parent or caregiver.
10:30–11:00am — Creative Movement with Tai Nixa Peterson
For ages 4-6, perfect for pre-school & kindergarten aged children.
2:30–3:45pm — Beginner Breaking with Calvin Walker
A beginner-friendly intro to breaking for kids ages 6–12.
Then at 6:00pm, head over to the Norwich Green for Avant Vermont Dance’s family-friendly outdoor performance of SEASONS: Summer.
After the show, stick around for:
6:30–7:00pm — Families Dancing with Ashley Hensel-Browning / Avant Vermont
An all-ages movement workshop connected to the performance.
Workshops are free, donations are welcome, and advance registration helps us keep the day from becoming administrative soup.
Come move, watch, wrangle children, support local dance, and help us start festival week with energy!
