Goodenough Library

it is Matariki, or the Māori New Year, and to mark this we have a new book all the way from New Zealand, donated by @goodenoughcollege Member Zosia Herlihy-O’Brien. Matariki is the star cluster known in English as the Pleiades, as well as the celebration of its first rising in late June or early July. Matariki: The Star of the Year, by Māori scholar Rangi Mātāmua, explores the astronomy, history and lore behind this tradition.

Thank you to our beloved maestra @astro_muso, who has led the College through so many concerts and musical events over the past three years, for this thoughtful donation and for the blessing of inspiration penned within its pages to future Members.
