We had such an amazing day yesterday doing the very long dress rehearsal and first show of Let's Dance 2026.
This is the first time Emmeline's been in the whole show and the finale so the whole experience has been much more exciting this year.
It was a very long day though and by the end of the dress rehearsal she was very hot, tired, hungry and crabby.
I got to chaperone Emmeline's group this year which was really nice. The girls were all so well behaved so it was a real pleasure.
In previous shows we've all sat in the auditorium during the dress rehearsal so have been able to watch all the dances but we're in a different theatre this year so we're all in dressing rooms and as there are stairs to get up to the stage, I haven't been able to escort the girls to and from their performances so I haven't seen anything.
I'm only chaperoning one show today though so I get to sit in the audience and watch the other one.
I can't wait.
We were outside after the show last night and people were coming up to us to say how wonderful Emmeline's performance was and how they couldn't take their eyes off her. My friend, who watched last night's show and was clapping and cheering for Emmy said that a lady in front of her asked if Emmeline was her daughter and said that she also thought she was amazing. Even Miss Rachel was complimenting her when she came down to visit our dressing room.
I'm so proud of her. Not only for being a wonderful dancer, but for battling through even when she was so hot and stressed yesterday. The thing I'm most proud of though is the compliment I received from one of the other chaperones yesterday who noticed how kind Emmeline is. A couple of the other dancers were a bit shy and Emmeline made a point of talking to them and inviting them to join in with the games and activities they were doing.
