Intense and unprecedented artillery shelling is targeting the eastern areas of Gaza City.

The shelling is concentrated around the Shuja’iyya neighborhood intersection, which has recently come under the control of the Israeli occupation forces and lies within what is known as the Yellow Line.

This comes amid daily artillery attacks on the eastern areas of Gaza City, posing an increasing threat to the lives of residents living near the Yellow Line, as the escalation continues and fears grow of further attacks.⁩

“Tyrannosaur” changed Olivia Colman’s life.

In several interviews, the Oscar-winning actress for The Favourite has said that playing Hannah, a woman experiencing domestic violence, not only launched her into the world of cinema but also led her to become a patron of Tender, a British charity that uses the arts and theatre to educate young people about healthy relationships and abuse prevention.

Watching Paddy Considine’s film (or perhaps even just this scene from the Reel), it’s easy to understand its impact. With the rawness and honesty so characteristic of independent cinema, Tyrannosaur begins as the story of a man (Peter Mullan) seeking redemption, but evolves into the account of two people tormented by violence.

In Joseph’s (Peter Mullan) case, the violence lies within him: a widowed alcoholic consumed by rage. In Hannah’s case, it is inside her own home: despite being a kind-hearted woman, her days are marked by an abusive relationship.

To prepare for the role, Colman consulted Refuge, a charity dedicated to combating domestic violence, to ensure that her portrayal of trauma and abuse would be authentic. The actress said she felt enormous pressure to get it right, so that people who had survived similar situations wouldn’t feel that her performance was false or artificial.

An extraordinary actress by nature, Olivia got it absolutely right: her performance in Tyrannosaur proves to be as delicate as it is devastating.
